Proprietary Technology

Sterify was born with the intention to counter the phenomenon of antibiotic resistance by focusing its technology on biocidal binary products. We use two different types of molecules, one of which is produced by the bacteria themselves, able to act on a broad spectrum, but avoiding the possibility for harmful microorganisms to create defensive biochemical strategies. Active components release is modulated by a polyvinyl hydrogel.

Sterify Skills

Broad antibacterial spectrum

Doesn't create resistance

Promotes tissue regeneration

Stable at room temperature

The idea behind the project is to design and manufacture innovative products.

for the prevention and treatment of infections, with characteristics suitable for application in multiple surgical disciplines such as, for example, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General, Reconstructive Plastic, Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery, Urology and Gynecology.

Periodontitis

Gum diseases affect most people at some point during their lives. They are caused by the body’s reaction to bacteria that build up in the mouth and cause inflammation.

Wound healing

Chronic non-healing wounds affect millions of patients each year and contribute significantly to their morbidity and mortality.

Implant infection

Infections after surgical procedures for articular prostheses and trauma devices can cause pain, poor wound healing, need for further treatment including antibiotics, longer hospital stays, and increased health care costs.

INNOVATION

Reaching Patients Through Biomedical Innovation

The excessive use of antibiotics in operating practice has created multi-resistant bacteria that are expected to kill 10 million people by 2050. For decades, the World Health Organization (WHO) has been asking public bodies and companies to invest in research for new products for the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections.

Story

Our symbol is a protective shield, in the center of which, four stylized leaves symbolize the natural origins of the active ingredients, derived from lactic acid bacteria and olive leaves.

Fight the enemy with its own weapons

A “war” fought with peptides produced by a lactic acid bacterium to hinder the growth of other bacteria in the surrounding environment, thus behaving like natural antibiotics.

Olive leaf surfactant

It has the ability to weaken the bacterial defenses, allowing peptides to destroy both Gram – and Gram + Bacteria.

What happens to microorganisms when they come into contact with a surface treated with Sterify? We will show you!

A simple experiment; we flushed 1000 liters of air on an untreated bacterial culture plate. Then we repeated the experiment on a culture plate whose surface was treated with Sterify. The result is awesome!
